Easy peasy. All you have to do is dream up a house and then someone builds it, right? Yep! And then of course there are some other things. Important things - like a budget and a timeline, like a trustworthy and competent builder, and like familiarity with construction financing.  And still more, there are all the details of your house, from floors to doors, from electrical fixtures to tile to shingles and all the rest. 

Building a home is like an iceberg. Much of the effort to make the house visible and beautiful is hidden below the surface, in the clarity that comes from our accumulated experience on the whole process. Home owners deserve to know what they don’t know. And we have been trained to know just those things. Without confidence in how to plan a house, there is little confidence in building it and we are confident in both!

We want to be your people. Finding a good contractor is not a financial question. Your home will be constructed by this builder and his contractors. You will talk and make decisions together about money, materials, schedules, delays, changes, etc, etc. Too many stories of unclear expectations from both contractors and clients, and beautiful houses that have sour memories attached to them because of communication breakdowns. This has sharpened our empathy toward you as home owners. We get it. It’s been our goal to develop a team, from the GC to project managers to the skilled workers, that will take your home as seriously as you do, and as seriously as we take our reputation for quality and consideration.

Know What to Expect

It all starts by deciding what you want. Sometimes, however, our desires and expectations are held back by money or municipal codes or existing conditions. But those are often foreseeable problems to work thru with your builder prior to breaking ground. Most Builder-Owner problems occur when there isn’t clarity on how we are going to build you what you want. “What happens if I want to change the flooring or lights or whatever, and what if it’s last minute? When do I have to make final decisions about my paint color or my windows selection?” There are so many questions, that when left unaddressed at the beginning, leave both sides vulnerable and frustrated. We know all the details, from foundations to faucets. We will be up front on issues, follow-thru on solutions, and we ask the questions because we have been thru it before.
